Privacy policy

This policy explains how Leadsource International Manager Limited (NZBN 9429047325371), trading as Biz Loan Marketplace ("we", "us", "our") handles personal and business information when you use this website or enquire about business finance. We manage personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020 and its information privacy principles.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to understand your enquiry and help arrange business finance. That may include:

  • your name, phone number, email address and role in the business;
  • business details such as the business name, NZBN, IRD number, structure, industry, region, trading history and turnover;
  • how much you'd like to borrow, what it's for and when you need it;
  • details of any property you might offer as security, including existing lending against it;
  • your tax position, including amounts owed to Inland Revenue and any instalment arrangement;
  • identification, bank statements, financial statements and details of current debts;
  • credit information, but only once you decide to go ahead; and
  • details of other people connected to the application, such as co-directors, partners, trustees or guarantors.

Most of this comes from you, through the enquiry form, by phone or by email. We also record how you arrived at the website (for example, the first page you landed on and the page you enquired from) so we can tell which information is helpful. With your authorisation we may also obtain information from credit reporters, identity and bank-statement verification services, public registers such as the Companies Office, the NZBN register and Land Information New Zealand, and advisers you nominate, such as your accountant or lawyer.

How we use it

  • to answer your enquiry and talk with you about finance that may suit you;
  • to assess and arrange business finance with the lender best matched to your situation (we don't circulate your details to a long list of lenders);
  • to confirm your identity and the information you provide;
  • to meet legal obligations, including anti-money laundering requirements where they apply;
  • to run our business, keep records, deal with complaints and improve the website; and
  • to tell you about other business finance options that may suit you, which you can opt out of at any time.

Who we share it with

To arrange finance we may share information with the lender and funders involved in your application, related finance businesses that assess and settle business loans, credit reporters (only after you choose to proceed), verification providers, valuers for property-secured loans, lawyers, professional advisers, our IT and service providers, and government agencies where the law requires it. Some providers may store information outside New Zealand; when that happens we take reasonable steps to make sure it's protected to a comparable standard.

Your authorisation

By submitting an enquiry you authorise us to collect, use and share your information for the purposes in this policy, and to contact you by phone, text and email about your enquiry. An enquiry doesn't involve a credit check; we'll ask you before one happens.

If you give us information about someone else, such as a co-director or guarantor, you confirm you're allowed to and that you've told them about this policy.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, use, change or disclosure. We keep information only for as long as we need it for a lawful purpose, then take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you. To make a request or a privacy complaint, contact us through our contact page starting your message with "Privacy request", and we'll respond within a reasonable time. If you're unhappy with our response you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses cookies, browser storage and analytics tools to understand how people use it and to improve it. You can block cookies in your browser settings and the site will still work. Our tools, such as the offer comparer, run in your browser and don't save what you type.
